This week:
Lorette Mostert has done it! The policewoman from Middleburg beat Maritime Lawyer Grant Clark by one vote, taking the title of Ultimate Survivor! Lorette was crowned the winner at the end of a tense two-hour broadcast from Carnival City's Big Top Arena, which included highlights of the contestants’ final days on the island. The final two also had to answer some tough questions from the jury, but Lorette came out tops and beat Grant by one vote. Congrats, Lorette!

Week 1
A divided Bajau visited tribal council after being beaten by Iban in the second immunity challenge. Dyke looked like the obvious one to go, but in a surprise move, the tribe members voted off dairy farmer Nicola Windt after just 5 days on the island. Will the division between the “farm people” and the “city slickers” cause more problems for Bajau? |

Week 2
After promising his tribe fire for almost a week, Hein surprised everyone by getting the sparks flying – the first contestant in the history of Survivor (including the various international versions) to make a fire without the aid of flint or matches. Iban won the reward challenge when Bajau was disqualified, but Bajau won immunity, leaving Iban to decide whose flame to extinguish at tribal council. Lazy Liza's name came up again, but Viwe’s poor performance in the challenges ultimately convinced the tribe to get rid of him. Viwe received five of the seven votes, and it was clear that he had made a mistake when he decided to abandon the four-way alliance with Grant, Angie and Lisa. |

Week 3
When Bajau and Iban arrived at the site of the immunity challenge, host Mark Bayly asked all tribe members to hand over their buffs. Contestants had to draw buffs from a bag, which resulted in the forming of two new tribes. During the immunity challenge, the newly-formed Bajau proved too strong for Iban. However, Mark Bayly had to stop the game when Elsie’s hand got caught up between two wooden bars, leaving her howling in pain. After the challenge, Iban had to go straight to tribal council. Realising that her injury could hinder their performance in future challenges, Iban sent Elsie packing. |

Week 5
The Bajau tribe was faced with a moral dilemma when they were given a pet goat and the decision to either keep it, or have it slaughtered. The tribe put the issue to vote, and it was decided that the animal was to be slaughtered and eaten. But the poor goat wasn’t the only casualty of the episode. Since the shuffling of the tribes, Rijesh has had a hard time adjusting. Things came to a head when he couldn’t disguise his obvious dislike of Amanda any longer, leading to an ugly war of words. When he ended up at Tribal Council, the rest of the tribe made it clear that they had had enough of him, bringing his time on the island to an end. |

Week 6
In this week’s reward challenge, the tribes had to gulp down a variety of creepy crawlies, and a hungry Iban won. As a reward, they could choose between toiletries and rice – not surprisingly, they chose the rice. Bajau lost the immunity challenge as well, landing the team at Tribal Council again. This time, nothing could save Lisa, and her dodgy work ethic finally caught up with her. She received the majority of the votes, and was sent packing. |

Week 7
In the reward challenge, teams had to assemble a three dimensional puzzle with puzzle pieces retrieved from the ocean. It was a close contest, but Iban once again took the honours. Upon their return to camp, they tucked into their winnings – a traditional South African braai! Next came the immunity challenge; this time, only two members of each tribe were allowed to participate, while the others had to await the outcome at camp. Participants had to retrieve a heavy chest from the bottom of the ocean, after which they had to saw through a pole under water and retrieve a flag. Bajau won the challenge, sending Iban to tribal council. It was clear that Irshaad was in trouble, and the votes confirmed that – he became the 8th castaway to be voted off. |

Week 8
Yes, we can’t believe it either! This week’s show ended on an incredibly tense moment, and we’re all going to have to wait until next week to see who gets voted off! It all started with an earlier-than-expected tribal merge. The new united tribe, Empu, moved to a new island with plentiful food supplies, and with the group no longer so dependent on players like Hein and Dyke, the dynamics of the game changed drastically. Dyke won immunity, and during tribal council Hein and Lorette received an equal amount of votes. Who will win the tiebreaker, and who will be sent packing? Don’t miss the next episode! |

Week 9
This week’s episode opened with Hein and Lorette locked in a one-on-one battle for survival at tribal council. Lorette proved victorious, sending Hein home – to the shock of his tribesmates. In this week’s reward challenge, contestants had to answer probing questions about their rivals. Dyke outwitted his fellow contestants, and chose Amanda to accompany him on the luxurious spa outing offered as reward. The immunity challenge once again focused on the physical strength of the castaways, with contestants required to shove rivals from a ring, or force them to the ground. Mandla won the necklace, and the stage was set for another dramatic tribal council. This time, Dyke’s prediction proved true: He received four of the votes and his flame was extinguished. |

Week 10
Boot-camp instructor Angie decided to stir things up this week, and she certainly succeeded in doing so! She caused mayhem with her deceitful actions, which included digging into the tribe's meagre ration of tapioca. Against all expectations however, she won immunity, which put the pressure on the girls of the original Bajau tribe. At Tribal Council, Angela received four votes, bringing an end to her time on the island. She still has a role to play though – she'll join Dyke on the jury that will decide who wins the grand prize. |

Week 11
In the penultimate episode, Angie’s antics finally caught up with her. After an extra special rewards challenge that saw Mandla winning some unexpected time with his mother and sister, Lorette started exposing Angie’s conniving ways, making the rest aware of her actions. The immunity challenge once again came in the form of a physical test. Mandla looked the strongest, but he bowed out, handing Lorette immunity, and placing Angie in a precarious position. At tribal council it looked like a tie between Angie and Amanda, but the final card had Angie’s name on it, sending her packing. |
