STITCH GLOSSARY
Beadwork
Attaching sequins to fabric
Bring the needle and thread through the fabric and hole of the sequin. Thread a bead and go back into the hole and through the fabric. Repeat.

Attaching beads to fabric
Attach beads with backstitch. To straighten a row of beads the thread can be taken through all the beads at the same time before starting the next row. Strings of beads can be couched down in wavy patterns.
Making a herringbone tube using the half hitch knot
1 Start with a 1m double thread, leaving a 15cm tail to add closures. Pick up six size 8 seed beads. Tie the tail and working thread together to form a circle. 2 Stitch through the first bead after the knot. This method hides the knot in the beads. 3 Pick up two beads and go through the next bead in the circle. Come up through the next bead. Repeat twice. 4 Remember to do a step up to be in position to start the next row. To do this, come up through the bead next to the one your needle is exiting and the first bead of the first stitch in the row above.
